Auditions for Actors
Auditions for actors are sometimes held in order to choose an actor very carefully, and some just invite a whole array of actors who may be suitable as far as age or style goes. One person, or several people, will judge, according to the production. In an audition for actors for a very large production there may be a casting room, where one person may manage the entire audition and choose the actors for specific roles, the director will be there and maybe some of the producers, a representative of the broadcasting company and all sorts of other interested observers. Other auditions for actors, for the advertising field for instance, may be very small affairs.
Audition for actors for recorded productions are studied by the production team to choose the preferred actors. Audition for actors for the stage will usually take place on the stage in front of the director who will judge the actor's presence. Audition for actors for the stage and for acting schools will include a monologue or poetry of the actor's choice. Make sure to prepare well.
In an audition for actors for TV series or dramas, or for movies, you'll be sent a copy of the part of the script that you're expecting to perform. It's important to learn the part by heart and even to read the entire script beforehand if possible. An audition for actors for an advert may also be precluded by giving a copy of the text just before the audition. You should know it by heart anyway. Sometimes you may be asked to sing or dance, or to do some warm ups beforehand.
