Audition
Professional Auditions for actors, singers and dancers

An audition is the official job interview for stage performers. The auditions determine the level of actors, singers, musicians, dancers or other stage performers whether or not the performer fits the specialized field (acting, singing etc.) and whether he or she fits the the specific role.
There are three types of auditions:
There are auditions where the performers are asked to display their talent through a previously-memorized and rehearsed solo piece: for example, a monologue for actors or a song for a singer.
There are auditions where the performers can choose whatever part they want to perform as far as it related to the role or field they audition for: for example, a singer can choose whatever song he wants to sing.
There are also auditions where the performer is asked to perform a new piece during the audition.
Usually in dancing auditions, the performer needs to prove his improvisation skills. This evaluates his ability to learn and adapt himself to new situations.
Professional auditions
Auditions in entertainment industry occur every day in different fields. There are auditions for acting schools applicants who are just starting their way and there are others for professionals that validate the performer's skills for specific role and lead to signing a contract on the role the perform is auditioning for.
Monologues in auditions
Monologue is a text for a single stage performer and serves as ultimate measurement for a single actor in the audition. Opposite to a scene where several other actors act together on the stage in interaction, in monologue, the performer keeps the whole action alone. Monologue can be a text from a drama scene of two minutes or a larger part where only single actor performs alone on the stage without the presence of his partner . Then the actor gets all the attention and has the unique opportunity to impress, to enchant, to excite, to cause to laugh and fore mostly to convince the judges that he is the most suitable actor for the role. Monologue is one-man performance that serves as main platform for testing the artistic skills of the specific performer.
Movie auditions
Movie auditions precede every movie and are the main instrument of the production team to fit the casting of the movie for different roles on the movie set. In movie audition the actor gets the script or a part of the script that he is expecting to perform. Actor learns the part by heart and usually reads the entire script beforehand if possible. Movie auditions are usually shot on camera to perform screen tests. Then the production team can make decisions while watching the audition again after seeing all applicants.
Theatre auditions
Auditions for theatre plays are done in two steps. First to find new talented actors for the theatre itself who are signed on long term contracts and secondly the theatre auditions serve the purpose of casting a specific actor for a specific role in specific play. Theatre auditions are limited to professional actors and graduates from acting schools.
Children's auditions
Children's auditions are very similar to adult's auditions, with the exception that parental approval is needed. In children's audition the child's skills are tested in order to find out if he or she fits the role according the script. Children participate in TV serials and movies, children's TV programmes and more.
Modelling auditions
Models are needed all over the world in the entertainment industry. In a modeling audition the model is asked to present his/her modeling portfolio but sometimes also is asked to present himself/herself before the judges. Not only good looks and beauty are needed but also there are requirements to fit certain typecasting. In a modeling audition an outfit (sometimes even a swimsuit) is requested, or even to play a small part (if the modeling audition is for a TV commercial) and the judges might even ask to sing and dance.
Singers auditions
A singing audition measures singing abilities and determines whether or not one got what it takes to be a singer and whether he or she fits the specific role being cast. A singing audition takes place every time a movie production, a commercial production, a musical production or even a band is looking for a singer. The audition determines the singer's skills to perform in front of public, in a recording studio, solo or as a part of a band.
Dancing auditions
There are auditions for dancing and art performance schools applicants who are just starting their way and there are others for professional dancers to be part of dancing groups and auditions for specific performances. Dancing auditions determine whether the dancer is flexible enough, physical fit and also his or her ability to learn fast, remember the steps and improvise. The judges for the dancing auditions are usually professional dancers and choreographs who can easily diagnose a potential talent.
