Children as Models:
The age of child models is usually between two and thirteen for girls and up to seventeen years of age for boys.

In order to find work as a child model, you must be enrolled at a modelling agency, just as adult models are. First check with the more well-known agencies that handle child models and make sure their department is all that you think it should be. Ask what the minimum age for employment is.

Child modelling can be extremely varied: there are catalogues featuring children's fashions, advertising for various products, especially but not exclusively, products that children use. There are lots of child acting roles in the today's advertising industry.
It is much easier to find child modelling jobs than it is for adults in fact. There is more freedom in what features are acceptable for a child as to looks, personality, height and weight, especially at the very young ages. If a child is cute, he will constantly receive modelling jobs. The main thing is that the child must be easy to work with because not too many photographers will have the patience to work with a crying or an upset, spoilt and undisciplined child.

Parents: make sure that your child actually wants to participate in this activity and that you also are prepared mentally. In many countries, child employment is not allowed under a certain age and in certain circumstances. Make sure that it is legal and that the agency you have chosen acts according to the law.

Remember, even if your kid is adorable, not every type of look is suitable for the work. When approaching a modelling audition, you should prepare your child, as well as yourself, for the possibility that he or she will not make it. But if you strongly believe in his or her potential, don't give up and continue auditioning and remember that beginnings are always hard and only those who believe in themselves have the chance to make it.
