A singing audition takes place every time a movie production, a commercial production, a musical production or even a band is looking for a singer.

When will i get the chance to attend a singing audition?

For every new production, with at least one part that requires singing, whether it's a movie or musical, a commercial or a TV series, a singing audition will take place. You will also be required to pass a singing audition if you choose to study music in a well-known music academy.

I am a gifted singer, I graduated a well-known music academy and was considered a promising singer by my professors - so how come I didn't get past the singing audition?

When attending a singing audition, it's important you understand the part you're auditioning for and make sure you prove to the judges that you are made for that specific part, it is not enough to prove you can sing. Most of your competitors are good singers, the question is, which one of you is best for that part. Every singing audition is different, every production is looking for a different character and for a different singing style - make sure you are well prepared for the part.

How can I improve my chances for passing a singing audition? 

In order to maximize your chances when attending a singing audition, make sure you know as many music styles and genres, that way you'll be able to attend more auditions and improve your chances in getting a singing part.
It is also very important that you arrive early at the location where the singing audition takes place and take the time to do warm-ups and practice and are ready to enter the minute they call your name.
